Experts just revealed to Breitbart News that Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, is likely paying over $100,000 per month in legal expenses. 

This report from Breitbart comes as Hunter Biden is facing multiple investigations.

Background

Two of these investigations are being led by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Their focus is on Biden's taxes and international business dealings.

It is unclear where these investigations currently stand. Reports emerged in October indicating that prosecutors believe they have enough information to charge Hunter Biden with tax crimes and with crimes related to false statements that he made regarding a gun purchase.

Meanwhile, Hunter Biden is also facing an investigation that is being led by congressional Republicans.

This investigation is looking at such crimes as wire fraud, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, tax evasion, and money laundering. It is also looking to determine President Biden's involvement, if any, in his son's affairs.

This congressional investigation is expected to ramp up in the new year when Republicans take control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Over $100,000 per month

To defend against all of this, Hunter Biden has assembled what has been described as an "all-star" legal team.

This team is headed by Kevin Morris, a high-profile entertainment lawyer who has represented such celebrities as Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, and Matthew McConaughey.

The team also includes Chris Clark and Joshua A. Levy, and, most recently, reports have revealed that Morris added Abbe Lowell to the team. Lowell is known for representing high-profile individuals engaged in political scandals, including Bill Clinton. Accordingly, it is probably no coincidence that Lowell's hiring comes just before the Republicans are about to regain control of the House.

As would be expected, such an "all-star" legal team doesn't come cheap. Breitbart News reports:

According to attorneys with knowledge of industry compensation standards, Hunter could be paying more than $100,000 per month ($1.2 million per year) for his legal defense team. Lawyers at such a level would cost $1,000 per hour, a D.C. attorney who asked for anonymity for fear of retribution and reprisal told Breitbart News. Prepping for a single hearing could range from 6 to 40 hours, another attorney said.

The key question

Upwards of $100,000 is a staggering amount of money to pay for someone who has told a judge that he doesn't have enough money to pay child support for the daughter that he had with Lunden Roberts - a financial position that appears to have been confirmed by Kathleen Buhle, the ex-wife of Hunter Biden.

This begs the question - from where is the money coming?

At this point, the answer to this question remains unknown.
