FBI Deputy Director Bongino reveals existence of video evidence that suggests Epstein really killed himself

Disgraced convicted pedophile and billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein died in a New York City jail cell in 2019, and while the official story is that he committed suicide, conspiracy theories have run rampant since then that he was actually murdered.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino was insistent in a recent interview that unreleased video evidence from the jail proves that Epstein took his own life and was not killed by somebody else, Fox News reported.

Bongino's adamancy on the controversial issue is particularly interesting, given that he himself was previously a staunch believer and promoter of the theory that Epstein didn't kill himself.

Video suggests that Epstein killed himself

During an interview Wednesday with Fox News host Sean Hannity, FBI Deputy Director Bongino said, "There is more coming on the Epstein Files. Listen, I know this is a hot potato for folks. I totally understand. My comments are clear. I'm not paid for my opinions anymore -- I work for the taxpayer now. I'm paid on evidence, that's it."

"The evidence we have in our files clearly indicates that it was, in fact, a suicide. We do have video. It’s not the greatest video in the world. I don’t want to set expectations on fire," he continued. "However, the video does show in that specific block, that he goes in, made a phone call; you’ll see 12 hours of guards going in -- basically, check on him, come back. You’ll see nobody really comes out of that bay in that area than him. There’s no one in there."

"When you combine that with the other evidence, where, uh, we will be releasing in the coming weeks -- we're still finalizing some of the products -- I think it's pretty clear," Bongino insisted. "However, as I've clearly indicated in some of my tweets on my official account, listen, if new information surfaces in the future on any of these cases, we're always open."

"I'm just telling you there's nothing there in the file, at all, that indicates anything other than, in fact, a suicide," the deputy director added.

Similar claims made last week

According to The Hill, Bongino's remarks to Hannity echo what he said about Epstein about a week earlier during an appearance on "Fox & Friends," when he similarly discussed an as-yet unreleased video that seemingly ruled out any cause of death other than suicide for the convicted pedophile jailed while awaiting new child sex trafficking charges.

"I just want to be crystal clear on this. I am not asking anyone to believe me. I’m telling you what’s there and what isn’t, right," Bongino told the Fox News morning crew. "There is nothing in the file at this point on the Epstein case, and there is going to be a disclosure on this coming shortly."

Asked if there was direct video evidence of Epstein killing himself, the deputy director clarified, "No, no, not the actual act, but the entire MCC [Metropolitan Correctional Center] bay. It was only one camera. There’s video that, when you look at the video -- and we will release, that’s what’s taken a while on this."

"We are working on cleaning it up to make sure you have an enhanced -- and we’re going to give the original so you don’t think there were any shenanigans," he added. "You’re going to see there’s no one there but him."

Bongino used to be adamant that Epstein was murdered

Newsweek found the recent comments from Bongino about Epstein killing himself to be particularly interesting in light of the fact that, prior to taking his current job as a senior FBI official, the former cop and Secret Service agent turned conservative radio and TV pundit was a firm believer of the theory that Epstein did not kill himself.

Indeed, as recently as February of this year, just days after he was sworn in to his new role, Bongino said of the Epstein was murdered theory, "I'm not ever gonna let this story go. I'm not letting it go ever."
