It has been nearly six years since convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein passed away at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York away as he awaited trial on federal charges.

While many observers doubted claims that the disgraced financier died by his own hands, the FBI recently confirmed his death to have been a suicide.

FBI director: "You know a suicide when you see one"

According to Breitbart, that assertion was made by FBI Director Kash Patel during a Sunday appearance on Fox Business' "Sunday Morning Futures."

His statement came when host Maria Bartiromo highlighted the widespread skepticism regarding Epstein's official cause of death, saying, "People don’t believe it."

"Well, I mean, listen, they have a right to their opinion, but, as someone who has worked as a public defender, as a prosecutor, who’s been in that prison system, who’s been in the Metropolitan Detention Center, who’s been in segregated housing, you know a suicide when you see one, and that’s what that was," FBI Director Kash Patel said.

Deputy FBI Director Deputy Dan Bongino was also present for Bartiromo's interview, and he agreed with Patel's conclusion.

"He killed himself," the deputy director told her before adding, "Again, you want me to — I have seen the whole file. He killed himself."

Epstein accuser commits suicide

Epstein's name was back in the news last month after a woman who accused him of trafficking her as teenager committed suicide.

"It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia," Fox News quoted a statement issued by Virginia Giuffre's family as saying.

"She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking," the statement continued.

"She was the light that lifted so many survivors. Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure," it went on to add.

Two other Epstein victims have died in recent years

Fox News pointed out that Giuffre's death came less than a year after the passing of fellow Epstein accuser Carolyn Andriano due to a drug overdose.

The network noted how Andriano testified at the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell that she developed an addiction to narcotics due to the trauma of being abused as a minor.

What's more, another trafficking victim named Leigh Skye Patrick also passed away in 2017 as a result of a fatal drug overdose.
