FBI document alleged Biden bribery scheme is released

U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has released an internal FBI document that alleges President Joe Biden's involvement in an illegal bribery scheme.

This is the same FD-1023 form that FBI Director Chris Wray - after a significant stalling - allowed members of Congress to privately view last month.

The allegation is from a source whom the FBI has repeatedly used and whom the FBI has described as "highly credible."

The allegation is that Biden and his son Hunter Biden received $5 million each in exchange for arranging the firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company on whose board Hunter Biden happened to be working at the time.

The details

The document details a series of conversations that took place between the FBI informant and Mykola Zlochevsky - the head of Burisma - starting in 2015.

In the conversations, Zlochevsky says that he was "coerced" into paying $5 million each to Joe and Hunter Biden. Zlochevsky further says that he has "many text messages and ‘recordings’" to prove this.

The document, at one point, states, "Zlochevsky made some comment that although Hunter Biden ‘was stupid, and his (Zlochevsky’s) dog was smarter,’ Zlochevsky needed to keep Hunter Biden (on Burisma’s board) ‘so everything will be okay.'"

Zlochevsky went on to say that "both" Joe Biden and Hunter Biden insisted on Zlochevsky keeping Hunter on Burisma's board.

This general narrative of the document is not completely unfounded as many in the mainstream media would have you believe. It should be remembered that Biden, himself, once bragged about getting the prosecutor fired.

The FBI responds

The FBI is now reportedly "furious" with Grassley.

The agency released a statement, saying:

The safeguards the FBI placed on the production of this information are necessary to protect the safety of confidential sources and the integrity of sensitive investigations. Today's release of the 1023 [form] - at a minimum - unnecessarily risks the safety of a confidential source.

Grassley responded through spokesperson Taylor Foy.

Foy said:

Democrats and the media sought to link the FD-1023 to the Bidens' activity in Ukraine long before this document became public, citing information that only the FBI and DOJ could have known. The FBI can't cite risks to sources while thwarting congressional oversight in one breath and leak selective information to the news media in another.

Grassley, in a separate statement, explained why he decided to publicly release the document, saying:

While the FBI sought to obfuscate and redact, the American people can now read this document for themselves, without the filter of politicians or bureaucrats, thanks to brave and heroic whistleblowers.
