If President-elect Donald Trump said it once, he said it a thousand times -- President Joe Biden's dangerous pro-illegal immigration policies have undoubtedly led to terrorists of all sorts on U.S. soil.

While the New Orleans terrorist attack on Bourbon Street doesn't appear to be related to an illegal immigrant, it's only a matter of time before an ISIS sympathizer who snuck over the border commits an equally deadly act.

According to the New York Post, the suspect behind the New Orleans attack, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, is being investigated as a terrorist.

Earlier this week, he drove a Ford truck through the busiest section of Bourbon Street, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens more.

What's happening?

The FBI released a statement on the morning of the brazen and cowardly vehicle-ramming attack.

"This morning, an individual drove a car into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing a number of people and injuring dozens of others. The subject then engaged with local law enforcement and is now deceased," the FBI wrote.

The agency added, "We are working with our partners to investigate this as an act of terrorism."

The BBC reported that law enforcement officials confirmed that Jabbar was intentionally attempting to kill as many people as possible, hence why he picked the packed street famous for its large crowds.

The BBC noted:

Police described the act as "very intentional", adding that the attacker - identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar - was "hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did".

Jabbar also was armed and fired on law enforcement, injuring two officers. He was then killed by police gunfire.

Many questions still remain, including one regarding the barriers installed to protect streets like Bourbon Street from experiencing such attacks. It's unknown at this point why the barriers were not activated on such a busy night in the city.

Social media reacts

A particular news conference regarding the terrorist attack that included Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) sparked major speculation across social media as far as what the FBI knows.

"hmmm...gotta feeling Kennedy knows there was a 'stand down' order involved. There's no other reason for him to fluff off the FBI like that. Disrespected because she deserved it?" one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "We better get answers FAST . The FbI has failed us SO many times."
