FBI memo alleges Biden was paid $5 million by Burisma

An FBI informant was told that President Biden received a $5 million bribe from the infamous Ukrainian energy company that hired his son, House Republicans said Thursday.

The alleged bribe was in exchange for the firing of a prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who was creating headaches for Burisma Holdings, the company that gave Hunter Biden a lucrative salary despite no relevant experience.

The information was contained in an elusive FBI memo that Republicans were permitted to view after threatening to hold FBI director Christopher Wray in contempt.

Biden's bribe?

The FBI informant was allegedly told by Burisma executive Mykola Zlochevsky that Joe and Hunter Biden were paid $5 million apiece to make the investigation disappear.

President Biden is on tape boasting about his role in Shokin's firing in 2016. Republicans have long pointed to the tape as evidence of a quid pro quo, while Democrats have defended Biden by claiming Shokin was fired as part of an anti-corruption initiative that had nothing to do with the Bidens' interests.

The information from the FBI informant, if true, would appear to substantiate the claims of a quid pro quo.

"There [were] two separate transactions, one that went to Joe Biden for $5 million, one that went to Hunter Biden for $5 million,” Republican Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fl.) told Fox News. "There’s no doubt in my mind that Joe Biden is guilty of bribery.”

Follow the money

Biden dismissed the allegation as "malarkey" at a briefing Thursday, saying, "Where's the money?"

Florida Republican Byron Donalds fired back, "Joe, the money is hidden in the DOZENS of LLCs you & your family created to HIDE THE MONEY. You can run, but you can’t hide from House Republicans.”

House Republicans who are investigating the Biden family's finances say they have uncovered evidence of money laundering, with millions of dollars flowing to the Bidens and their associates through a complex web of shell companies.

It has long been known that Biden met with a Burisma executive for dinner in Washington D.C while serving as vice president. He has also been identified as the infamous "big guy" referenced in emails on Hunter Biden's laptop.

Cover-up?

The evidence of Biden's alleged bribe was unveiled on the same day that Biden's Justice Department took the unprecedented step of indicting his chief political rival, Donald Trump, on federal charges.

Trump and his allies have blasted the indictment as a political sham and the product of a two-tiered justice system that shields well-connected Democrats like Biden from accountability. Some such as Nancy Mace (Sc.) have said the timing of the indictment is suspicious.

"Every time Biden comes under the microscope, every time we show corruption by Joe Biden and his family there’s an indictment on Donald Trump... I can't believe this is happening," Mace told Fox News' Harris Faulkner.
