Federal workers integrated into DOGE by Trump executive order resign

Nearly two dozen federal workers at the U.S. Digital Service resigned in protest after President Donald Trump signed an executive order redesignating the department as the U.S. DOGE Service.

In a letter released on Tuesday, 21 employees who were rolled over into the new DOGE department resigned in protest, claiming they would not help the Trump administration "dismantle critical public services."

The mainstream media was quick to seize on this story to portray it as evidence that DOGE's mission was so unpopular that even DOGE's own workers weren't able to support it.

However, these employees who resigned were all federal workers who were not brought in by tech billionaire Elon Musk to prosecute DOGE's mission.

The resignation of these 21 workers makes Musk's job easier as now he can fill their positions with loyalists who will carry out the mission of cutting waste and fraud in the federal government.

Cleaning Out Federal Workers

Elon Musk and the Trump administration are likely quite happy to see these 21 ideologues walk instead of remaining in their positions where they could sabotage DOGE's mission.

The letter of protest stated, "We will not use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans' sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services. We will not lend our expertise to carry out or legitimize DOGE's actions."

DOGE, or the Department of Government Efficiency, has been on the warpath, taking a torch to wasteful federal agencies via audits and mass layoffs of unneeded workers.

Since President Trump took office last month, DOGE has discovered billions in waste and outright fraud among federal agencies. One agency, USAID, was responsible for almost criminal amounts of fraud involving American tax dollars.

Furthermore, USAID was also spending billions on pushing leftist DEI policies around the world. DOGE's crackdown on USAID incited protests from Democrats, many of whom likely had financial interests in USAID's wasteful spending.

President Trump promised throughout his campaign that he planned to clean out the federal workforce of leftist ideologues as well as trim the fat to cut down on the size of the federal government.

Trump had a clear mandate from the American people to do this, but that hasn't stopped the Democrat Party and the deep state from doing everything to stop him.

War Of Attrition

Trump's quest to clean up the federal government using Elon Musk's DOGE has turned into a war of attrition one month into Trump's 2nd term.

Multiple lawsuits have been launched against DOGE in a bid to stop its cleanup operation. From freezing foreign aid to mass layoffs of federal workers, many of DOGE's moves are being litigated, and some of those cases will have to be resolved in the Supreme Court.

DOGE's quest to clean up the federal government has set up a conflict over the power of the executive office vs. the legislative and judicial branches.

As Trump is the head of the executive branch, the Trump administration contends they have significant power to make sweeping changes within the executive branch and the conservative Supreme Court is likely to agree.
