Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has angered his fellow Democrats by breaking ranks and praising President Donald Trump's policies in the Middle East on Monday.

During the Senate Project series discussion, Fetterman sat down with his fellow Pennsylvanian Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) and shocked many by praising Trump for his many diplomatic wins in handling the traditionally contentious Middle East.

Fetterman went so far as to call out his fellow Democrats by claiming that he was one of the only Democrats to publicly come out and give Trump credit where credit is due.

Speaking on Trump's decision to withdraw from a nuclear arms deal with Iran, Fetterman said, "I wasn't really allowed to disagree, politically, with the original agreement on Iran. I really do think, now, Trump did the right thing to break that agreement."

In the past few months, it's become clear that the policies of past administrations have failed spectacularly, and Trump is taking new steps that are yielding results in a region that has been locked in decades-old problems.

Fetterman breaks ranks

In stark contrast to the previous administrations, Trump is fundamentally changing our relationship with Israel, rejecting both the Democratic Party's antisemitic stances while also rejecting blind loyalty exhibited by past Republican presidents.

While these changes have earned Trump criticism from both sides of the aisle, moderates like Fetterman are praising Trump's revolutionary stances that are allowing for progress in a region locked in many serious conflicts.

One move that Fetterman praised was Trump's decision to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, saying, "When Trump changed the embassy to Jerusalem, people thought… the region was going to burn. I mean, none of that happened… Some good things have happened there."

While much of the Democrat Party has rushed headlong into embracing antisemitism, Fetterman is a staunch supporter of Israel, and that has led to him being one of the few Democrats willing to work with Trump.

Fetterman has long rejected the hysterical ideas of the Democrat Party by choosing to maintain a moderate stance on many issues despite his own claim to support leftist ideas in many policy areas.

This has angered many Democrats who are working hard to portray Trump as a dictator who threatens the existence of the nation. The narrative falls apart when a Senator as important as Fetterman is destroying the illusion.

Trump's Middle East moves

Trump is making real change in the Middle East after decades of futility, thanks to Trump's refusal to listen to establishment pro-war voices in Washington, D.C.

Trump is reining in Israel after years of ceaseless, and seemingly fruitless, war against Gaza in response to the October 7th terror attack. Trump has also resisted calls to use military force against Iran, instead choosing to use crushing diplomacy.

This has gotten Trump some serious mileage with important states in the Middle East, like Saudi Arabia, which are working with Trump in facilitating peace in the Middle East.

The fact that John Fetterman is the only Democrat in the Senate who can come forward and acknowledge that Trump is doing good work speaks to just how rabidly partisan the Democratic Party has become.
