Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, continues to anger most of his colleagues with many of his policy stances that buck the party, and especially his recent appearance with MAGA conservative Steve Bannon.

According to The Hill, Fetterman was spotted with Bannon, a former strategist and adviser for President Donald Trump, at a local MAGA-popular restaurant on Capitol Hill.

The senator, who has continued to take flak for siding with Republicans on some issues, was spotted hanging out with Bannon for roughly 20 minutes at the Capitol Hill restaurant Butterworth’s.

Fetterman was apparently meeting with Matt Boyle, the Washington bureau chief for Breitbart.

What's going on?

For obvious reasons, reporters wanted to know why Fetterman was dining with Boyle, as Breitbart is a conservative-leaning publication. Fetterman, asked about the dinner, didn't have much to say about it.

"Oh my gosh, I don’t have anything," Fetterman said.

The Hill immediately ran the story, because of course it would. Once the story was published, Fetterman's office commented on the run-in with Bannon, which was written off as chance.

"The run-in with Bannon was inadvertent and impromptu," Fetterman's office said, obviously scared of the ramification of his base becoming angered about meeting with Bannon, a die-hard MAGA loyalist.

The Hill noted:

Bannon is a frequent customer at Butterworth’s, which has attracted increasing attention as a watering hole for supporters of President Trump. An inauguration weekend crowd included FBI Director Kash Patel, tech mogul Elon Musk, and the conservative blogger Curtis Yarvin.

Social media reacts

Users across social media had plenty to say about Fetterman's run-in with Bannon, and most of what appeared to be Democrats commenting on the matter were definitely not happy about it.

"Pennsylvania, are you listening?" one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "He is my Senator, and he will not be voted back in. He is done in this state. We all should have listened to Josh Shapiro, he knew what he was."

It'll be interesting to see just how mad Fetterman manages to make other members of his party over the coming months and years.
