Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania once again made his colleagues angry after he made shocking remarks about New York City's radical, socialist mayoral candidate.

According to The Hill, Fetterman, in an interview with Fox News, spoke his true feelings regarding the candidacy and policies of mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, sparking mountains of backlash from within the Dem Party.

During the interview, Fetterman said he believes that Mamdani is "not even a Democrat" as the topic of the candidate's extreme, radical lefitst policies was discussed.

Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist, has put forth a spate of radical progressive policy ideas and plans should he win the upcoming mayoral race in America's biggest and most influential city.

What did he say?

Fetterman, much like President Donald Trump, spoke his mind freely regarding Mamdani's run for the New York mayor's race.

"I mean, so, he’s not even a Democrat, honestly," Fetterman said at one point during the interview.

Fetterman told Fox News host Chad Pergram, "Everything that I’ve read on him, I don’t really agree with virtually any of it, politically."

Fetterman wasn't the only Democrat to criticize the democratic socialist, who currently serves as a New York Assemblyman.

The Hill noted:

Jonathan Kott, former communications director for former Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), said Mamdani is “way out of whack” during a Thursday appearance on Fox News’s “America Newsroom.”

"He says he’s a democratic socialist, and that’s how he should run, and that’s what Democrats around the country should point out," Knott added.

Social media reacts

Users across social media weighed in on Fetterman's comments, with most of them agreeing.

"When Senator Fetterman says that a candidate is too far to the Left, and too extreme to even be considered a Democrat - that is saying something. Mamdani is too radical to be mayor of New York City! He would be terrible. Senator Fetterman is warning us of this!" one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "I am beginning to like Fetterman more all the time."
