Fetterman wants President Trump to bomb Iran ahead of third round of nuclear talks
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has been one of the only straight-talking Democrats in the upper chamber who isn't afraid to buck his own party in order to do or support what's right.
That's why it comes as no surprise that Fetterman, according to The Hill, seems to be in full agreeance with President Donald Trump as far as what should happen to Iran, calling on the president to "strike and destroy" the country's nuclear facilities ahead of a third round of nuclear talks in the coming week.
Fetterman, who has gone far outside of his party in support of Israel, believes that Iran continues to be a destabilizing force in the Middle East that needs to be dealt with.
It's not the first time Fetterman has signaled support for President Trump, as he has back him on several other hot-topic issues, angering some of his Democratic colleagues in the process.
What did he say?
Fetterman, the straight-talking Pennsylvania senator, held nothing back in describing what he believes needs to happen to Iran at the order of the president.
"You’re never going to be able to negotiate with that kind of regime that has been destabilizing the region for decades already, and now we have an incredible window, I believe, to do that, to strike and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities," Fetterman told The Washington Free Beacon earlier this week.
The Hill noted:
Trump has expressed confidence ahead of a third round of talks to be held later this week, but it’s unclear if the two countries can find common ground about eliminating Iran’s nuclear program, among other priorities.
Fetterman also took aim at the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists, calling them a group that "couldn't fight," and added that he believes Hamas terrorists are nothing more than a "bunch of tunnel rats with junkie rockets in the back of a Toyota truck."
The Pennsylvania senator went as far as agreeing with Trump for pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal during his first term, adding that he's not sure why Trump is even remotely entertaining some kind of new deal in the coming weeks.
He said the negotiation should include the Israeli Army, and "should be comprised of 30,000-pound bombs."
Fetterman's statement
The senator took to his X account to drive the point home.
"The only purpose of Iran’s nuclear program is to create weapons. We can’t allow that or negotiate with this regime. Provide our comprehensive military support and whatever else Israel requires to destroy Iran’s capabilities," he wrote.

Democrats quickly pounced on his X post, angry that he supports Israel. Go figure.
