Filmmaker says Democrats have "set it up" for Michelle Obama to run for president

In what would be a stunning development, a growing number of observers say former First Lady Michelle Obama is poised to replace President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.

Among the latest to say so is Los Angeles filmmaker Joel Gilbert, who recently told One America News that Democrats have all but "set it up for her" to be on the ballot.

Gilbert points to parallels between Mrs. Obama and her husband

"I followed the Obamas for years and I'm pretty well known for a film I made in 2012 called 'Dreams from My Real Father' about Barack Obama's background," Gilbert said.

"And I noticed that when Trump got elected, Michelle Obama started copying what Barack Obama had done before he ran for president," the conservative filmmaker continued.

"Barack was the keynote speaker for John Kerry at the 2004 DNC Democratic Convention [and] sure enough, there was Michelle introducing Joe Biden at the 2020 convention," Gilbert pointed out.

"Barack wrote two autobiographies, 'Dreams from My Father' and 'The Audacity of Hope,' then Michelle set out to write two autobiographies, the best-selling 'Becoming' and 'The Light We Carry,'" he recalled.

"The Obamas are itching to get back in the White House"

"And then Barack had a voter registration organization called Project Vote in Chicago. Sure enough, Michelle started When We All Vote," Gilbert pointed out.

"It got 26 million bucks from the George Soros gang and she's been running around registering people. And then I saw the Democratic Party seems to have set it up for her," he added.

Gilbert then noted how the early Democratic primary contest was moved from Iowa "where she would have had to campaign in a hundred counties to South Carolina where half of the electorate for a primary will be African American voters."

What's more, he also observed that the 2024 Democratic National Convention will be held in Chicago, the city that Mrs. Obama was born and raised in.

"So I think the Obamas are itching to get back in the White House, and I think they've positioned Michelle to do so," Gilbert concluded.

Vivek Ramaswamy and Ted Cruz suggest Obama will be on the ballot

Gilbert is not alone in believing that another Obama White House run could be in the cards, as businessman and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy recently made a similar suggestion.

Sen. Ted Cruz made a similar case in September during an episode of his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz," saying, "The Democrat kingmakers [will] jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama."
