First Lady Melania Trump just made a rare public appearance, in which she offered her "deepest sympathy" to all of the victims of the recent flash floods in Texas.

The Daily Mail, in fact, reports that both the first lady and President Donald Trump were recently in Texas to view the aftermath of the flood.

The latest reports indicate that the floods took the lives of at least 120 people, including dozens of children.

The First Lady speaks

As the Daily Mail reports, it is extremely rare that the first lady speaks publicly, but this is exactly what she did on Friday.

"My deepest sympathy to all of the parents who lost beautiful young souls. We are grieving with you," she said.

These remarks came after the president and First Lady took a tour of the areas affected by the flood and after they were briefed on the situation by local officials. The president and First Lady also met with victims.

Melania Trump revealed, "We pray with them, we hug, we hold hands." She also said:

I met beautiful young ladies. They gave me this special bracelet from the camp in honor of all of the little girls that lost their lives. So we are here to honor them and also to give the support.

The First Lady said "I will be back. I promise to them. And I just pray for them and give them my strength and love."

Trump mourns loss of "angels"

The president, of course, also delivered some public remarks. He, in particular, mourned the loss of "young angels," by which he was referring to all of the children who have lost their lives.

The president said:

They were there because they loved God, and as we grieve this unthinkable tragedy, we take comfort in the knowledge that God has welcomed those little, beautiful girls into His comforting arms in Heaven.

"We lost some very brave men and women that tried to save the girls," he added.

Thus far, it is reported that at least 27 members of the Camp Mystic died in the flood.

Overall, there are still 160 people missing, which means that there is a possibility that the overall death toll could continue to rise.
