First-round NFL pick Ricky Pearsall shot during robbery attempt

Football superstar Ricky Pearsall's career seemed to be going as well as it possibly could be. He had an excellent college career split between Arizona State and Florida, and was even a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

The only mistake that Pearsall made was being drafted to a crime-ridden city like San Francisco.

The city with perhaps the worst crime and homelessness problems in America reared its ugly head again recently. Ricky Pearsall was shot during a robbery attempt in downtown San Francisco on August 31, according to Mayor London Breed:

This afternoon, there was an attempted robbery in Union Square involving San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and he was shot.

SFPD was on scene immediately and an arrest of the shooter was made.

My thoughts are with Ricky and his family at this time.

We will provide more updates, including on his condition, as I receive them.

I’m currently at San Francisco General Hospital. We will be providing updates to the media shortly.

Ricky Pearsall

Born in September 2000, Ricky Pearsall has had tremendous aspirations for his football career dating all the way back to his days growing up in Tempe, Arizona. As a junior at Corona del Sol High School, he set the Arizona High School 6A single game receiving record with 342 yards against Gilbert high school.

Pearsall began his college football career at Arizona State, where he had seven receptions for 128 yards during his Freshman season. During the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Pearsall appeared in all four of ASU's game's and caught six passes for one touchdown. His final season in Arizona would be his most productive one in the desert, he caught 48 passes for 580 yards and 4 touchdowns.

With ASU's football program struggling, Pearsall transferred to the Florida Gators where his career would really take off. During Pearson's two seasons at Florida, he tallied over 1,500 receiving yards and hauled in ten touchdowns, leading to him being picked in the first round in the NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

Tragedy in San Francisco

What should have been one of the most exciting periods of Pearsall's life as his first NFL season approached quickly turned into one of the worst times of his life after what happened on August 31, 2024.

Pearsall reportedly bravely fought for his life throughout the entire incident, refusing to give in to whatever the criminals were demanding. He was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

The San Francisco police released a public statement detailing what happened that afternoon:

Pearsall hadn't yet appeared on the field in a game for the 49ers, as he was dealing with two different injuries that kept him out of all three of San Francisco's preseason games.

When America's athletic heroes aren't even safe in their own cities, you know that America has a serious problem with law and order. Liberals have been flooding America with soft-on-crime policies for YEARS now, and the condition of liberal cities like Baltimore, NYC, San Francisco, Detroit, and Chicago PROVE these policies are making America MORE dangerous, not less.

Please pray for Ricky Pearsall, and pray for America.
