Florida congressman introduces resolution to impeach the president

The Hill reported late last week that a Florida congressman took aim at President Joe Biden with articles of impeachment.

The resolution, which was introduced this past Friday by Republican Rep. Greg Steube, leveled allegations of fraud, obstruction of justice and bribery.

Biden accused of bringing "disrepute" on his office

"He has undermined the integrity of his office, brought disrepute on the Presidency, betrayed his trust as President, and acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice at the expense of America’s citizens," The Hill quoted Steube as saying in a statement.

Steube's move was far from unique, as multiple Republican lawmakers  have introduced similar resolutions in recent months.

On May 18, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a resolution naming the president along with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Border concerns feature prominently in previous impeachment resolutions

That same day saw Florida Republican Rep. Bill Posey introduce his own impeachment resolution "for high crimes and misdemeanors, culminating in his failure to protect the States from foreign invasion as is his duty under the Constitution."

It cited Biden's refusal to secure the border as well as his policy of releasing migrants into America's interior and failing to test them for COVID-19.

This was followed nearly a month later by another impeachment resolution, this time from Tennessee Republican Rep. Andy Ogles.

Lauren Boebert says "border won’t be secured" until Biden is removed

"Joe and Kamala deserve to be impeached for their crimes against the United States. The American people deserve justice and a leader who will honor their oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution—not trample it," he declared.

Yet another impeachment resolution came a day later from Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert, who also cited the president's refusal to stop illegal immigration.
