President Donald Trump has long been the subject of intense hate from critics, with some even attempting to assassinate him.

Another example of that animosity emerged earlier this week when a man was arrested for threatening to attack the president.

Suspect allegedly said he would fight Trump "to the death"

According to Breitbart, 42-year old Florida resident Kendal Aaron Todd was taken into custody on Monday in response to a series of since-deleted social media posts.

In one post, Todd allegedly referred to Trump as "the Antichrist" and asserted that "every single person in the world is cursed" because of his actions.

Todd is also said to have threatened to fight the president "to the death" over "business decisions which have hurt so many different reincarnated Jesuses."

Richard Del Torro serves as sheriff of St. Lucie County, and he was quoted as saying in a statement that Todd "just kept escalating his behavior."

"He got the attention obviously of the United States Secret Service — and that got our attention," the local law enforcement official explained.

Sheriff: "We're not messing around"

"We worked with them [U.S. Secret Service] to obtain the arrest warrant and the search warrant today," he continued, adding, "Got there today again, the SWAT team was there. We were in full force."

"We're not messing around, obviously, with threats of suicide by cop and things like that, threats to our president," Torro further stressed.

"We weren’t letting any taking any chances, and we’re not going to put our deputies’ lives at risk, so it’s a high-risk situation," the sheriff declared.

Torro concluded by saying, "we’ve had attempts on our president’s life before, and we’re not taking any chances, and so we’re going to investigate those. The full weight of the sheriff’s office was going to investigate that."

Neighbor likes Todd to be "a vampire" who "travels at night"

West Palm Beach's WPTV noted that Todd "faces charges of written threats to kill or do bodily harm" with a bond set at $500,000.

Meanwhile, one neighbor who spoke with WPTV described Todd as being an "unfriendly" man who largely keeps to himself and "acts like a vampire."

"Because he travels at night, you don't, you don't see him during the day," the woman was quoted as saying. "A lot of people dislike Trump, but you know, you have to keep that to yourself. You don't go threaten people's lives."
