Sports fans were saddened this week to learn that baseball legend Jim Price passed away at the age of 81.
According to the Associated Press, Price was a catcher for the Detroit Tigers before pursuing a successful career in broadcasting.
Price's death was made public in a statement released by the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday that read, "We mourn the passing of Jim Price, a treasured member of the Tigers organization for decades. He spent all five years of his playing career wearing the Olde English ‘D’, including the 1968 World Series championship season."
