Former Bondi aide claims Trump 'could' be striking DOJ deal with Ghislaine Maxwell
The Jeffrey Epstein drama continues to unfold as now, according to a former aide to Attorney General Pam Bondi, President Donald Trump could be in the process of striking a "hidden pardon" deal with Ghislaine Maxwell.
According to reports from left-leaning outlets like the Daily Beast, the president "could" be lining up some kind of backdoor pardon deal to clear his name regarding the possibility of his name being included in the so-called "Epstein files."
The report came on the heels of news that Maxwell reportedly met with top Justice Department officials this week, with many speculating that she's striking some kind of deal — possibly an immunity agreement.
The Trump administration has taken fire from within and from the left over the past several weeks regarding its downplaying of the Epstein files situation.
What's going on?
What was especially notable about the meeting Maxwell had with DOJ officials is that one of those officials was Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, whom one former Bondi aide called "extraordinary."
The Daily Beast noted:
Dave Aronberg, a former state attorney for Palm Beach County who was once Bondi’s drug czar when she was Florida’s attorney general, said on CNN that Blanche’s role in the interview was “extremely extraordinary.”
CNN's Brianna Keilar was as dramatic as possible about the possibility of Trump working out some kind of deal through his Justice Department. Aronberg explained how rare it would be for Blanche to meet with anyone.
“It’s as if the number two executive at CNN was conducting this interview with me instead of you," Blanche said.
He added, "Like, what? It never happens. Also, he’s not going to be knowledgeable about this case like the line prosecutors who actually handled her case."
The outlet noted:
Aronberg suggested that the interview could be part of a scheme by the Trump administration to “protect the president” as he faces a surge of concerns about his relationship to Epstein.
Theories
Aronberg speculated that Blanche's involvement could mean something big.
He speculated that there could be "a deal with Ghislaine Maxwell that she would get some immunity now and maybe a hidden pardon in the future: some sort of implication that she would be pardoned in the future if she comes out and says that the president was... not involved in any criminal activity.'
He also thought it was interesting that Blanche was handling the situation, as he was a former personal attorney for Trump.
Only time will tell if there's any truth to the theory, but as we know, the anti-Trump crowd will pretty much say anything at this point.
