Former Clinton strategist says Biden's path to victory has 'vanished'

In the wake of President Joe Biden's disastrous debate with former President Donald Trump, his political path forward is now very much in question.

While the White House insists that the 81-year-old president is able to carry on and move forward with the campaign against Trump, many on the left believe that's simply untrue and not fair to even pretend about at this point.

According to Newsmax, longtime strategist and former Bill Clinton political director Doug Sosnik wrote a shocking piece for The New York Times that essentially points to how much political trouble Biden is truly in.

In the piece, Sosnik wrote that Trump could have "one of the most decisive presidential victories since 2008" as a result of Biden's situation.

What did he say?

At long last, some truth has emerged from the left, with Sosnike writing that Biden's path to victory in 2024 has "all but vanished" for "reasons that have become glaringly obvious."

The former Clinton adviser held nothing back as he bluntly laid out how Biden simply can't win the states he needs to win to secure a victory.

"I've never seen such a grim Electoral College landscape for Mr. Biden: He not only faces losing battleground states he won in 2020, he is also at risk of losing traditional Democratic states like Minnesota and New Hampshire, which [former Secretary of State] Hillary Clinton and [former President] Barack Obama carried," he wrote.

Sosnik continued, "If current trends continue, Mr. Trump could rack up one of the most decisive presidential victories since 2008."

Sosnik is one of a growing, large chorus of Democrats who do not believe Biden is even anywhere remotely capable of beating Trump in November.

Shaky ground

The Clinton strategist pointed to Biden's glaring weaknesses in a handful of crucial swing states.

"Each of the three states poses particular challenges for Mr. Biden. Current polling shows him trailing Mr. Trump by as many as five points in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and more narrowly in Michigan," he wrote.

He added, "The deficit in Pennsylvania must be particularly disconcerting for Mr. Biden and his campaign, given the time and resources devoted to the state."

Many believe it's only a matter of time before somehow, some way, Biden is pushed aside (or steps aside) and someone takes over the top of the ticket.
