For years, many conservatives have argued that former First Lady Jill Biden and other White House figures effectively controlled former President Joe Biden's administration.

Yet that claim isn't just being made by Republicans, as one former high-level Democrat recently accused Mrs. Biden of orchestrating a coverup. 

"What she did was absolutely elder abuse"

Lindy Li is a former Democratic National Committee (DNC) fundraiser, and she leveled the accusation during an interview with Fox News earlier this week.

Li told the cable network that the former president had "a lot of people behind him" who functioned as White House "puppet masters."

Li indicated that the former first lady was chief among them, stating, "What she did was absolutely elder abuse. There is no question in my mind."

"Joe was not able to do a lot of campaign events, so Jill would come out on his behalf, acting like the president or the presidential candidate. That's why she graced the Vogue cover three times. She loved it," the former DNC fundraiser declared.

"If I were to pinpoint two reasons why Joe decided to run again, it would be two people: Jill and Hunter Biden. Because Hunter Biden's freedom was on the line and Jill's ego was on the line," Li said.

Li: Advisor to Mrs. Biden ran the White House "like he was a king"

In addition to Mrs. Biden and her stepson, Li also singled out Anthony Bernal, who served as a senior advisor to the former first lady.

"They deny the cover-up, but I had a front-row seat watching it happen. People like Anthony Bernal. I saw him running the White House like he was in charge, like he was a king," Li stated.

"It's just so amazing now to see him dodge a subpoena and completely dodge accountability. He can run, but he can’t hide. His name is going to go down in infamy forever," she added.

Fox News reported that while the House Oversight Committee called Bernal to testify, he refused after the White House waived executive privilege.

Chairman "will not tolerate this obstruction"

"Now that the White House has waived executive privilege, it’s abundantly clear that Anthony Bernal – Jill Biden’s so-called 'work husband' – never intended to be transparent about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and the ensuing cover-up," House Oversight Committee was quoted as saying in a statement.

"With no privilege left to hide behind, Mr. Bernal is now running scared, desperate to bury the truth," the Kentucky congressman asserted.

"The American people deserve answers and accountability, and the Oversight Committee will not tolerate this obstruction," Comer went on to add.
