Republican supporters of President-elect Donald Trump, especially at the state level, value loyalty and allegiance just as much as Trump does, and that was proven this week in Georgia.

According to the Daily Mail, former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, an outspoken Trump critic, found out what happens when you aren't in line with the vast majority of your party, as he was voted out by the state's Republican Party this week.

In a unanimous vote conducted by the Georgia Republican Party's state executive committee, Duncan was formally given the boot.

Among other things, Duncan was accused of breaking the oath of the state's Republican Party.

What's going on?

Duncan was accused by Georgia GOP party officials of having "undermined and sabotaged" Trump during his 2024 campaign, breaking from the overwhelmingly strong Republican support system in the southern state.

The vote resolution was scathing and held nothing back, listing all of the grievances filed against Duncan, especially as they occurred during Trump's 2024 campaign.

The Daily Mail noted:

In the blistering resolution, they claimed his term as Georgia lieutenant governor was 'marred by embarrassment and scandal' and said he 'forfeited any claim to being even a nominal “Republican."'

Duncan, a so-called "Republican" also endorsed and voted for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, making the situation especially more embarrassing for him at this point in time.

The Daily Mail added:

Last May, he wrote an article in the state's biggest newspaper titled 'Why I'm voting for Biden and other Republicans should, too.'

In it, he argued Trump disqualified himself 'through his conduct and his character' and claimed the now president-elect 'fanned the flames of unfounded conspiracy theories that led to the horrific events of Jan. 6, 2021.'

Social media responds

Users across social media responded to Duncan being expelled from his own party.

"Geoff Duncan should have just switched parties voluntarily (like Cheney & Kinzinger should have when they realized they accidently joined the party they hate). Doesn't look good making them expel you to get you where you belong," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Meet your next CNN contributor."

It'll be interesting to see what Duncan does next. CNN and MSNBC have probably already called him.
