Former Israeli hostage Amit Soussana to receive prestigious award from First Lady Melania Trump
Released hostage Amit Soussana, who was held captive by the cowards who make up the ranks of the Hamas terrorist organization, will receive a prestigious award from First Lady Melania Trump.
According to the Times of Israel, at a special upcoming ceremony, the first lady will present the US State Department’s International Woman of Courage Award to Soussana.
Sousanna suffered unthinkable acts of sexual abuse and assault during her time in captivity, and she aims to use her experience to empower other women.
She has spent considerable time advocating on behalf of the remaining hostages, drawing global attention for her admirable efforts.

Sousanna released a statement regarding the upcoming award ceremony.
"I accept this award on behalf of the women who fought in the war, and on behalf of the women who suffered in captivity — who found strength in one another in order to survive the unimaginable," her statement read.
She was one of seven women around the world who were chosen to receive the prestigious award -- made especially special in her case as she will receive it from the United States first lady.
Amit Soussana, who was held captive by Hamas terrorists for 55 days, is one of eight women from around the world chosen to receive this year’s U.S. Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award.

The U.S. State Department also released a statement regarding the award, praising Sousanna for her advocacy on behalf of the remaining hostages.
"Amit Soussana uses her voice to courageously advocate for survivors by using her own lived example to describe the trauma she suffered as a hostage of the October 7th attack in Israel," the department wrote.
It added, "Ms. Soussana has raised awareness of the conditions faced by the women, men, girls, and boys who remain hostages of Hamas."
