Former Rep. Van Drew staffer staged brutal attack: Report

It appears that there's another Jussie Smollett out there, and her name is Natalie Green, a former staffer for Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) who was caught faking a horrible attack that was originally reported as authentic.

According to the New Jersey Globe, Green, 26, hired a professional artist to make her appear bruised and scarred from an attack she claimed took place because she worked for Van Drew.

As it would turn out, she paid the artist to write obscenities on her body, including the phrase "Trump whore" on her stomach and "Van Drew is a racist" on her back.

She also staged the scene with zip ties and attempted to make it look as though she had been attacked on a nature trail in Egg Harbor Township.

What's going on?

Green, a law student at Rutgers, made a late-night 911 call indicating that she had been attacked by the men. The responding police officers found her zip-tied with the phrases written on her body, as her shirt was pulled up.

The outlet added:

Greene allegedly drove to Pennsylvania and paid a body-modification artist $500 to carve the wounds on her face, neck, and upper body, using a pattern she had provided in advance. Investigators later found matching zip ties in her Maserati SUV.

Green and her co-conspirators don't appear to be all that smart, as authorities discovered a search query on their computer that read, "zip ties near me."

Cell phone tower records also indicated that they had been at a nearby dollar store to purchase the zip ties.

It got even more embarrassing for Green and her co-conspirator, as their stories didn't match up after being interviewed by multiple law enforcement officials, including an agent from the FBI.

The outlet added:

Several days later, after receiving medical treatment for her wounds, Greene was again asked to describe her alleged attack to law enforcement officers, including an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Interviews of Greene and the co-conspirator did not match.

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to the news of the staged attack, and there was no shortage of criticism.

"@RutgersLaw training students to be activists and not truthful lawyers. Who the hell would ever trust this person to be apart of their practice when they pull something as disgusting and unlawful as this?" one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "I have no sympathy for scum who fake political, gender based or racist attacks like this. She's just as bad as all the others."
