Fox News personality Julie Banderas is getting a divorce.

Banderas, 49, shared the sad news with viewers on-air during a discussion of Valentine's Day on Gutfeld!

Fox star getting divorced

Host Greg Gutfeld had asked whether Banderas is expecting any gifts from her estranged husband, financial advisor Andrew Sansone. The couple have been married for 13 years and share three kids, but Banderas had nothing positive to say about the relationship.

"F--- Valentine's Day," she said. "It's stupid. I mean, even when I was married, I didn't get s---."

She went on to share that her marriage is over, prompting -- strangely enough -- laughter from her co-hosts and applause from the studio audience.

"I'm getting a divorce. I am going to go ahead and say it right here for the very first time," she said. "Congratulations are in order. ... That was breaking news, huh?"

Cynical?

Banderas continued to shower scorn on the sentimental Valentine's holiday as nothing more than a commercial opportunity.

"It's a Hallmark holiday, it's stupid," she said. "I mean, it's just absolutely ridiculous."

Banderas had teased the announcement before going live, telling Twitter users that she had news to share "during the Valentine's Day segment ironically."

"Tune into @gutfeldfox tonight at 11pm ET. I have a little announcement at the end of the show. (During the Valentine's Day segment ironically)," she wrote.

She had also hinted in December that she and her "soon to be ex" were heading their separate ways.

Mixed reactions

While some have responded positively to Banderas' announcement, others have criticized it as tasteless -- although, Gutfeld! isn't exactly known for its wholesome content.

"No class!" one Twitter user responded.

Banderas has continued to joke publicly on the split, which she appears to be taking as quite a relief. The Fox anchor shared a screencap of a text chat with a friend asking Banderas to return a wedding gift -- which Banderas would have received in 2009.

"I love my friends," Banderas wrote in the caption.

One user told Banderas that she will "wish she had done it sooner," prompting her to respond, "yeah, like 13 years ago."
