Throughout Joe Biden's presidency, in light of his lax policies on enforcing border security and immigration laws, there were sporadic reports that known and suspected foreign terrorists were entering the country illegally via porous and unsecured borders.

On Wednesday, during a news conference at the southern border, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revealed that the Biden administration knowingly released into the country nearly 100 terrorists -- at least -- in 2024 alone, according to Breitbart.

She further exposed that of those terrorists who were permitted to enter the country, less than 10 of them were deported or held in custody, as well as that the whereabouts and activities of the remainder are unknown at this time.

Hundreds of known and suspected terrorists granted entry

On Wednesday, DNI Gabbard traveled to the border city of Eagle Pass, Texas, along with Vice President JD Vance and Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth, where they spoke with local and state leaders and toured a detention facility while touting the Trump administration's far tougher policies on border security and illegal immigration, per the New York Post.

During a news conference, Gabbard referenced President Trump's recent Joint Address to Congress and told reporters, "The president talked about in his speech, over 21 million people have come across our borders illegally under Joe Biden's administration. There are many of them that we don't know who they are. They have not been vetted. We don't know where they are."

"I'll give you one quick example of one of the problems that we are getting after," she continued. "From Central Asia, there were over 4,000 people who came across our borders using an ISIS-affiliated network. Our National Counterterrorism Center went through and identified those individuals. There were hundreds of them who were either known terrorists or associated with known terrorists."

Biden admin knew and released terrorists into U.S.

"That information was provided to the Biden Administration. You may remember in some of the news, a little over 100 of those people were arrested in 2024," DNI Gabbard said. "Of those who were arrested, only eight were either deported or remained in custody -- only eight. The rest of them were released back into our country."

"Where are they? What are they doing? What may they be plotting? This is just the beginning," she continued. "There are many, many areas that we need to stay very focused on, working with Department of Homeland Security, working with the FBI to ensure that we're keeping the American people safe."

"Our Counterterrorism Center is working on making sure that we have that single source for vetting so that we can figure out who is actually in our country and identify those who pose a threat and get them removed," Gabbard asserted.

"The president's designation of the -- the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations falls directly into this, especially as we are seeing some of the tactics that these cartels are using reflect some of the tactics that we've seen used by Islamist terrorists in countries that many of us have served in overseas," she added. "Our mission is very clear. Our objective is to keep the American people safe. I'm grateful to be a part of this team that President Trump has assembled to accomplish that mission."

Trump's policies are effective and will continue

Breitbart noted that DNI Gabbard did not specify which nations from "Central Asia" were the origin point for the known terrorists that were released into the country by the prior Biden administration, but the outlet pointed out that nearly all of those nations are predominately Islamic and several have serious issues with Islamist radicalization and recruitment by jihadist groups.

As for the other two senior administration officials with Gabbard on Wednesday's visit to the border, the Post noted that VP Vance praised the undeniable effectiveness of President Trump's policies that have slowed illicit cross-border traffic from a flood to a trickle in just a matter of weeks.

Likewise, Sec. Hegseth spoke highly of the success seen thus far but insisted that the Defense Department would continue to provide necessary assistance until such time that total "operational control" of the border was achieved.
