Gisele Bündchen speaks out following death of her mother

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen took to Instagram to share a touching tribute following the death of her mother, Vânia Nonnenmacher, at the age of 75 on January 28.

Expressing her deep emotions, Bündchen conveyed the sorrow of no longer being able to embrace her mother while expressing a profound belief that Nonnenmacher will remain a guardian angel watching over them.

The model expressed profound gratitude for the privilege of being her daughter, acknowledging the invaluable lessons in love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace instilled by her mother.

Nonnenmacher passed away due to cancer at Porto Alegre's Hospital Moinhos de Vento, having been admitted on January 26. Bündchen had previously shared the challenges of caring for her ailing parents, describing the experience as tough for both her and the entire family.

Continuing grief

She underscored the significance of various coping mechanisms, including meditation, daily exercise routines, and a steadfast commitment to wellness through nutrition, to navigate through challenging times.

Bündchen, known for her openness on social media, often posted cherished memories and photographs of her mother, highlighting a closely-knit family dynamic that included her twin sister Patricia and four additional siblings.

Nonnenmacher's passing was noted in a statement released by Hospital Moinhos de Vento. The retired bank teller, who raised Bündchen in a hardworking middle-class family in the town of Horizontina, Brazil, became an integral part of the supermodel's life.

Despite the difficulties, Bündchen expressed resilience and emphasized the importance of relying on various supportive tools during challenging periods.

Honoring her mother

The model's Instagram posts revealed a strong family bond, with poignant snapshots capturing moments of celebration, including Mother's Day tributes and a family reunion photo.

In addition to Bündchen and her twin sister Patricia, Nonnenmacher is survived by her other children, including sisters Rafaela, Graziela, Gabriela and Raquel.
