Golfer hopes Ilhan Omar will be 'sent back to Somalia' after Charlie Kirk comments
This past week saw Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar share a social media video which called Charlie Kirk "a reprehensible human being" and a "Dr. Frankenstein" whose "monster shot him through the neck."
Omar later refused to apologize for that rhetoric, leading one athlete to suggest that the Squad member should "be sent back to Somalia soon."
Omar: Kirk's legacy belongs "in the dustbin of history"
According to Breitbart, that suggestion was made on Saturday by professional golfer Phil "Lefty" Mickelson in a social media post of his own.
Ilhan spews hate every time she opens her mouth, she came here fraudulently and will hopefully be sent back to Somalia soon. https://t.co/2kOhBM1abS

Mickelson reposted a video clip of Omar telling CNN host Kaitlan Collins that Kirk's legacy belongs "in the dustbin of history."
Congresswoman says people should "forget the hate" that Kirk "spewed"
The congresswoman also objected to a bipartisan resolution the House passed late last week which was aimed at honoring Kirk's life.
"What I find jarring," Omar told Collins, "is that there’s so many people willing to excuse the most reprehensible things that he said, that they agree with that, that they’re willing to have monuments for him, that they want to create a day to honor him, and that they want to produce resolutions in the house of Congress honoring his life and legacy."
"I am not going to sit here and be judged for not wanting to honor any legacy this man has left behind, that should be in the dustbin of history, and we should hopefully move on and forget the hate that he spewed every day," Omar insisted.
Mickelson was not alone in taking Omar to task, as South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace did as well, with Breitbart reporting that she introduced a motion to strip the representative of her committee assignments.
Trump says Omar should be impeached
The Hill reported that President Donald Trump also took aim at Omar when speaking with reporters on Thursday after Mace's resolution failed to pass.
"I think she’s terrible. I think she should be impeached. I think she’s terrible," the president was quoted as saying aboard Air Force One.
"So how are they doing? How’s your government? Do they have a president? Do they have a council? Do they have anything? Do they have police?" Trump continued in an apparent reference to Somalia.
"I love these people," the president remarked. "They come from a place with nothing, nothing, no, anything, and then they tell us how to run our country."
