Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis gained national prominence last year by indicting former President Donald Trump on charges related to the 2020 election.

Yet thanks to a civil lawsuit filed last week, it seems that Willis will be appearing in court as a defendant.

Lawsuit also names Fulton County commissioner, varies entities

According to Atlanta's WSB-TV2, Republican state Rep. Mesha Mainor is suing Willis along with Fulton Commissioner Marvin Arrington, who she accuses of depriving her of rights under color of law.

The lawsuit also names the Fulton County government, the Fulton County Ethics Board, and the Fulton County District Attorney's Office.

It relates to events which took place when she was running for office in 2019, including her hiring of one Corwin Monson as a campaign worker.

Mainor's complaint asserts that she was forced to fire Monson "after witnessing his unruly, belligerent behavior." She alleges that Monson later began stalking her, as well as coming to campaign events, sitting outside of her house, and joining her church.

What's more, Mainor contends that Monson also began leaving multiple voicemail messages, which he later turned into a song.

After Monson was cited for criminal trespass at her home, Mainor sought and received a protective order. He was subsequently arrested in September 2019 and September 2020 for violating the protective order and was indicted twice on charges of aggravated stalking.

However, Mainor's lawsuit claims that Monson is a "close friend and associate of Defendant Commissioner Arrington," who was hired to serve as a defense attorney in one of the aggravated stalking cases.

It further declares that an Assistant District Attorney "informed Plaintiff Mainor of the influence Defendant Commissioner Arrington wielded."

Willis and Arrington said to have corrupt relationship

He is said to have "used his influence to circumvent the office policies of the District Attorney’s office" by intimidating prosecutors, negotiating plea deals directly with the district attorney, and demanding meetings with those who "refused to bend to his will."

WSB-TV2 noted how this is not Mainor's only quarrel with Willis, as she has also accused the district attorney of taking too long to prosecute cases.

"Citizens and family members must know they have a right to file a motion for a bond and the judge must grant the bond if they have been confined to jail more than 90 days and District Attorney Fani Willis has failed to prosecute," Mainor was quoted as saying in a statement.
