GOP Probing Biden-Harris Administration For Information On Terrorist Who Planned Election Day Attack
Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Ranking Member Rand Paul (R-KY) is probing the Biden-Harris Administration's role in releasing two Afghan nationals who allegedly were planning an election-day terrorist attack.
Senator Paul along with several other Republicans are demanding answers from the Biden-Harris administration on why these individuals were released into the United States after one was arrested and charged with plotting a terrorist attack on Election Day with an underage co-conspirator on behalf of ISIS.
Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, 27, came into the country on Sept. 9, 2021 on a special immigrant visa after the disastrous U.S. evacuation from Afghanistan.
Tawhedi is one of thousands of Afghani refugees who were brought into the United States by the Biden Administration with little to no vetting.
Terrorist Plot
Now Tawhedi and his co-conspirator are facing terrorism charges and the Biden-Harris Administration must answer for their decision to release thousands of unvetted and possibly dangerous refugees into the United States.
In a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Senator Paul stated, "After entering the United States, Tawhedi promoted ISIS propaganda, sent funds to known charities linked to ISIS support networks, and liquidated all assets to purchase weapons; with the remaining funds intended for the ISIS Treasury."
Paul's letter continued saying, "Tawhedi was working with a juvenile co-conspirator with legal permanent resident status who had entered the United States on March 27, 2018, using a SIV. According to reports, the two Afghan nationals planned to carry out a violent, armed attack on Election Day."
Paul finally ended the letter by stating, "The screening and vetting processes under the Biden-Harris administration are clearly failing, allowing criminals and individuals with terrorist links to exploit vulnerabilities in the system. Given the significant threat to American lives, it is imperative that we receive detailed information to fully understand the scope of these issues."
A travesty
President Biden's handling of the evacuation from Afghanistan was a travesty that cost the lives of over a dozen servicemembers and untold numbers of civilians.
But the fallout from that incident may not be over as now we have thousands of unvetted refugees who are running free and now allegedly plotting terror attacks.
The discovery of Tawhedi's scheme has made it clear that there is a serious risk and it cannot be assumed that he and his co-conspirator are the only threats.
Open Borders
While many Americans have become aware of the Biden-Harris administration's handling of our literal borders, many aren't aware of the more legal loopholes that Democrats have left open.
The Biden-Harris administration has admitted untold numbers of "refugees" into the United States. The issue is the standard of proving refugee status is nonexistent meaning that opportunistic actors have learned to claim refugee status to guarantee entry into the United States.
Our borders are open in a literal and metaphorical sense and we are lucky there hasn't been a tragic attack yet.
Many have been sounding the alarm about the threat posed by terrorists posing as refugees and those warnings must be taken seriously.
