GOP Sen. Grassley 'presses' Secretary Noem on paroled illegal immigrants
U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), on Thursday, "pressed" Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on the issue of paroled illegal immigrants.
This, according to Just the News, comes after an Inspector General report found that parolees "could remain in the U.S. without consequence after the expiration of their status."
It also comes after the revelation that the Biden administration paroled millions of illegal immigrants into the United States.

Grassley "presses" Noem
The Republican senator did so in a letter that he addressed to Noem on Thursday.
He wrote:
The OIG found that multiple Biden-DHS components – including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – failed to uphold their respective responsibilities under federal law and executive policy for tracking and enforcing parole expirations.
This was one of multiple Biden administration failures that Grassley highlighted.
Grassley wrote:
This is concerning given that 61,455 parolees had a parole expiration date between November 2024 and February 2025. The OIG report makes it clear that, “under the[] [Biden-] DHS policies and practices, aliens could remain unlawfully in the United States after parole expiration without enforcement consequences.” As a result of this report, the OIG made three
recommendations, all of which remain open.
Accordingly, Grassley asked Noem for what steps the DHS, under Noem's direction, has taken to address this situation.
Millions paroled under Biden
At the time of this writing, Noem has yet to respond to Grassley. The Trump administration, though, has sought to make the American public aware of what ex-President Biden and his administration did.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, this week, told reporters:
Biden paroled millions of illegal aliens into our system, handing out free benefits while hardworking Americans suffered under Biden’s inflation. Hospitals were overwhelmed, crime was rising, and illegals were getting things for free. It’s fundamentally unfair, and this administration won’t support it.
Just the News explains, "The Biden administration made extensive use of presidential parole authority to admit millions of illegal aliens into the country on a temporary basis, though it evidently did little to track parole recipients or enforce immigration law after the expiration of their parole."
Grassley has been one of the Republican senators who has taken the lead on this issue. He called attention to it back when the Biden regime was still in power and he continues to call attention to it now that President Trump has taken over.
It is certainly something to keep an eye on going forward.
