Three Republican state lawmakers, Pennsylvania Rep. Aaron Bernstine, Georgia Rep. Charlice Byrd, and Arizona Rep. Cory Mcgarr, are collaborating on the development of legislation aimed at removing President Joe Biden from ballots in key swing states—Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.

The plan

The legislators argue that their efforts are a response to what they perceive as Democrats’ use of "lawfare" to challenge former President Donald Trump.

The recent decision by the Colorado Supreme Court, which blocked Trump from appearing on the state’s presidential ballot based on the United States Constitution’s “Insurrection Clause,” has fueled the Republicans' resolve.

In a statement, the lawmakers explained, “We are joining forces to introduce legislation to REMOVE Joe Biden from the ballot in Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. The absurdity of radical Democrat judges removing Donald Trump from the ballot in Colorado will be a stain on the American political system for decades.”

They continued, “By their very own interpretation of the law, Joe Biden is 100% not eligible to run for political office. Democrats’ insane justification to remove Trump can just as easily be applied to Joe Biden for his ‘insurrection’ at the southern border and his alleged corrupt family business dealings with China.”

The threat

Expressing their opposition to what they see as a threat to the democratic process, they stated, “Colorado radicals just changed the game and we are not going to sit quietly while they destroy our Republic.

"To be clear, our objective is to showcase the absurdity of Colorado’s decision and allow ALL candidates to be on the ballot in all states. To do that, we must fight back as Republicans against the communists currently running our great country.”

Republicans nationwide have responded with concern to the Colorado Supreme Court's decision, contemplating various actions to prevent Biden's presence on state ballots.

The lawmakers involved in this initiative believe their efforts are essential in defending the integrity of the electoral system against perceived threats.

The comments

Political strategist Cliff Maloney commended these Republicans, stating that "GOP elites are asleep at the wheel."

The effort comes as former President Donald Trump has been banned from the Colorado ballot.

The pushback on Biden could force the effort to the Supreme Court ahead of next year's potential rematch.
