Some lawmakers believe the decision of the Colorado Supreme Court to disqualify former President Donald Trump from the ballot will be overturned by The Supreme Court.

Sen.Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) made his comments during an appearance on ABC's "The Week" on Sunday, where he said that the nation's high court will strike down the state decision in Colorado, as Breitbart News reported.

Graham said, “This Colorado Supreme Court made a political decision. In my view, there is no constitutional basis for the decision they rendered.

"I think it will be a slam dunk in the Supreme Court. Donald Trump will eventually be on the ballot in Colorado. I think he will win the primary. You’ve got a lot of good choices in the Republican Party.

But this ruling in Colorado is chilling to me. And it would set up a politicization of the presidential races. It would be bad for the country.

He added, “You know, Hillary Clinton had the same view that she was cheated. He’s not the first politician to claim to have been denied a fair election. But here’s what I would say: I accept the election results of 2020. I’m worried about 2024.

The South Carolina lawmaker asserted that if Trump "puts his vision out" about an American with more prosparity and increase security for it's citizens, he will win the election, but if he constantly looks to the 2020 election, he will likely lose.

"So, at the end of the day, the 2020 election’s over for me. We need to secure the ballot in the 2024 cycle. But Donald Trump’s not the first person to complain about an election.”

Trump's Take

In a Christmas message on social media, the former president asserted that current President Joe Biden was “illegally using all of the levers of Law Enforcement” to put him in jail.

Trump, who received two of his four indictments in 2023 from Biden's Department of Justice, focused two Truth Social posts on Biden on Christmas morning, as Breitbart further reported.

In his first post, he predicted that 2024 will be remembered by history “AS THE YEAR OF GREAT AND FULLY COORDINATED ILLEGAL ELECTION INTERFERENCE,” the former president said.

Trump went on to allege that there is a joint effort between the Biden administration and attorneys general and district attorneys “THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.”

Despite this, Trump believes 2024 will culminate in a general election victory for him:

In a follow-up post, Trump wrote, “It’s hard to have a truly great Christmas when you have a Crooked and Incompetent President who wants to put his Political Opponent in jail, and who has been working hard (for a change!), illegally using all of the levers of Law Enforcement, to do so. We are in the fight of our lives to save our Country from MADNESS & DOOM. MAGA 2024!!!” he added.
