The rap music world was shocked to hear of rapper XXXTentacion's death in 2018. He was shot and killed outside of a South Florida motorcycle shop while he was robbed of $50,000. 

According to Breitbart, his family and friends got a taste of justice for their beloved last week after his killers, three men, were handed down life sentences.

Breitbart noted, "Michael Boatwright, 28, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24, were each convicted last month of first-degree murder and armed robbery by a jury following eight days of deliberations."

The men, all charged with first-degree murder, never had to worry about a death penalty, as prosecutors only pursued life in prison.

The trial

Taking over a month, prosecutors worked overtime to link the three killers to the fatal robbery.

The shooting occurred on June 18, 2018, outside of Riva Motorsports in suburban Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Prosecutors had extensive surveillance video that helped prove their case.

There was a fourth man involved in the rapper's murder, Breitbart noted:

Prosecutors also had the testimony of a fourth man, Robert Allen, a former friend of the defendants who said he participated in the robbery. He pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder. His sentence was delayed until the conclusion of the other three defendants’ trial.

Legal experts say Allen might be afforded time served, given his assistance early on in the startling case.

Not surprisingly, defense attorneys for the three men argued that Allen wasn't being truthful, and was only concerned about dodging a life sentence.

Horrible scene

XXXTentacion was seen on surveillance footage in a vehicle when two of the men confronted him and presumably started the robbery. One of the men opened fire through the window.

They quickly grabbed a Louis Vuitton bag that contained some $50,000 that the famous rapper had just withdrawn from the bank.

Breitbart noted:

Boatwright was identified as the primary shooter and Newsome was accused of being the other gunman. Williams was accused of driving the SUV and Allen of being inside the vehicle.

While the family of the 20-year-old rapper will never fully heal, they'll at least be able to sleep knowing that his killers are going away for a very long time.
