While Attorney General Pam Bondi raised eyebrows last month when she released documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein, the move was met with disappointment after it emerged that the material contained little new information.

According to the Daily Mail, that has caused Bondi to face growing fury among conservatives along with skepticism about whether she will deliver on other promises.

Some Republicans are growing impatient

The newspaper pointed to social media posts from users who doubted whether the attorney general will make evidence on the assassinations of  President John F. Kennedy, Sen. Robert Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. available to the public.

Shortly after he took office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order which declared that "more than 50 years after these assassinations, the victims’ families and the American people deserve the truth."

However, the Daily Mail quoted one X user as complaining, "This will probably be as anticlimactic as the Epstein docs, possibly even more so." Another remarked, "I'm not falling for the Bondi hype."

Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina is in charge of the House Oversight Committee’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, and she has had friction with Bondi in recent weeks.

Luna "not confident" about receiving Epstein client list

"On Feb 11 [and] Feb 19, House Oversight sent a letter to the DOJ asking for status on releasing the Epstein files as well as JFK etc," Luna wrote in a social media post late last month.

"The DOJ has not responded. Reaching out on X because we can’t seem to get a response from the AG," she continued. "[Attorney General Pam Bondi] what is the status of the documents? These documents were ordered to be declassified."

Meanwhile, The Hill reported that Luna reiterated her complaints during an interview on March 3 with former Florida congressman and current One America News host Matt Gaetz.

"I’m not confident on the Epstein client list because I haven’t had the briefing yet from the Department of Justice," Luna said.

Bondi blames FBI for withholding documents

For her part, Bondi has blamed the FBI's New York Field Office for secretly holding on to a large amount of evidence concerning Epstein.

As the New York Post reported, Bondi raised the allegations that "thousands of pages of documents" had been kept from her in a letter sent to FBI Director Kash Patel.

"By 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, February 28, the FBI will deliver the full and complete Epstein files to my office, including all records, documents, audio and video recordings, and materials related to Jeffrey Epstein and his clients, regardless of how such information was obtained," she wrote.
