Former Vice President Kamala Harris is now being accused of being a "hypocrite." 

According to the Daily Mail, this is because she and her husband were recently caught using something she has been trying to stop Americans from using, namely, plastic bags.

But, there is a lot more to the story than just this.

This all comes, for example, as Harris divorce rumors - among other things - have been swirling. There will be more on this in a moment.

Really?!

Social media, according to the Daily Mail, exploded over the weekend after Harris and Doug Emhoff were spotted using plastic bags to hold the groceries.

The outlet reports:

Fans are furious after former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff were spotted carrying plastic bags during a recent grocery store run. Harris, 60, who previously advocated for banning plastic straws during her first unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2019, was seen at the 99 Ranch Market Asian Grocery store in Westwood, California, on Thursday.

It is unclear what "fans" the outlet is referring to, as Harris left office with a historically-low approval rating - not to mention her defeat to President Donald Trump.

One social media user wrote, "WTF? Is that Kamala Harris toting a #platic bag of groceries?? What an out-of-touch HYPOCRITE with zero self-awareness!"

Another wrote, "Hypocrisy at its finest."

You can say that again!

This all comes amid divorce rumors involving Harris and Emhoff. The Daily Mail previously reported that Harris is actually placing some of the blame for her 2024 election defeat on her husband.

Per the outlet:

Kamala Harris was all smiles and affection for her 'beloved' second gentleman Doug Emhoff in the immediate aftermath of her crushing presidential election defeat. But now that President Donald Trump has been sworn into office, for sore loser Harris, it is now all about the blame game, and her target has flipped to her 'dead weight' husband. And as she weighs her political future – maybe a 2026 run for Governor of California or another try for the nation's top job two years later – she has to consider whether Emhoff is an asset or a liability.

For now, apparently, he is an asset - or at least enough of an asset to carry plastic grocery bags.

Other reports have revealed that Harris is taking her loss to Trump rather poorly. Fox News reports:

As she grapples with navigating next steps, Harris has spoken with family and close friends, including the one other person who has been in her exact position: Hillary Clinton, New York Magazine reported. The two have reportedly spoken several times since Harris’ defeat.
