Vice President Kamala Harris is facing criticism for not being able to do an interview on her own. 

This comes after Harris sat down for her first major interview since becoming the Democratic Party's presidential nominee.

Fox News reports, "For the prior 38 days, Harris has been lambasted for failing to take substantive questions from the press or take part in such an event."

The interview, however, did not really satisfy Americans' desire to hear what Harris really has to say - what her platform really is. Instead, it was a pre-tape, hand-holding type interview with a security blanket: Harris's running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz (D).

Where is the substance?

This is the question that many are asking in the wake of the interview.

Probably, the part of the interview that has garnered the most attention is Harris's claim that - despite her recent shifts in policy - her "values" have not changed.

"I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed," she said.

If this is indeed the case, then many have pointed out that Harris - contrary to her recent ostensible policy shifts - ought to be expected to continue to pursue more radical ideas.

I just saw Comrade Kamala Harris’ answer to a very weakly-phrased question, a question that was put in more as a matter of defense than curiosity, but her answer rambled incoherently, and declared her “values haven’t changed.” On that I agree, her values haven’t changed - The Border is going to remain open, not closed, there will be Free Healthcare for Illegal Aliens, Sanctuary Cities, No Cash Bail, Gun Confiscation, Zero Fracking, a Ban on Gasoline-Powered Cars, Private Healthcare will be abolished, a 70-80% tax rate will be put in place, and she will Defund the Police. America will become a WASTELAND!

Will we see an unscripted Harris before the election?

The answer is almost certainly "no."

Harris, at the time of this writing, is expected to debate Trump in about a week's time, but there are serious doubts about whether Harris will actually show up. If she does, then many believe that she will essentially continue to read off of a script.

In response to the backlash from the CNN interview, the Harris campaign is also claiming that Harris will do a "solo" interview, but, of course, no specifics have been provided.

Politico reported:

After several Republicans and conservative media personalities criticized Harris yesterday for sitting down with Walz as a “security blanket,” the Harris-Walz campaign last night provided a list of joint interviews conducted by every major party presidential ticket since 2004 — though a senior campaign official also made the important stipulation that “obviously she will do solo interviews too” over the course of the campaign.

The question that remains in all of this is how Harris can run the country if she can't even do an unscripted solo interview. Critics would say that she can't.
