Vice President Kamala Harris's likely running mate is being accused of trying to imitate former President Barack Obama.

The likely running mate, according to the New York Postis Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D).

The outlet published a video comparing Shapiro's speech with Obama's, and the two are very similar. Take a look and listen for yourself:

"A bad impression"

Among those to comment on the above clip is U.S. Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), the running mate of former President Donald Trump.

During a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast, Vance said, "Josh Shapiro from Pennsylvania, who, you know, I've seen a couple of clips of him talking. He talks like Barack Obama. It's like if I really tried to do a bad impression of Barack Obama, that's what it would sound like."

This has earned a response from Shapiro.

"If he wants to sling insults in my direction, which I'm not even sure it's an insult, let him do it. Bring it on. I'm ready for whatever the hell JD Vance throws my direction," he said.

Many are wondering whether this is Shapiro tipping his hand, revealing that he will be Harris's running mate.

The latest

It was just on Friday that Harris became the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, replacing President Joe Biden. And, it is expected that Harris will choose her running mate any day now.

Reports have indicated that Harris narrowed her list of potential running mates down to two: Shapiro and U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ). And, it appears that Shapiro is most likely to get the nod.

The Daily Mail reports:

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker prompted confusion with a post on Friday saying: 'Proud to be back with so many leaders from across our region supporting @KamalaHarris for President and @JoshShapiroP for VP!'. She included a video with footage of recent press conferences that ended with the message: 'Josh Shapiro for Vice President'.

Many are wondering whether this is one of those on-purpose leaks - whether it was leaked in order to see what the public's response would be to Harris choosing Shapiro. The answer is unclear.

But, we should know whom Harris is going to pick in the very near future.
