Hillary Clinton called 'war criminal' during appearance at Wellesley College

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is likely quite accustomed to receiving fawning, even sycophantic welcomes, particularly when visiting elite liberal university campuses.

As such, the former first lady was perhaps caught off guard on Saturday when, during an appearance at Wellesley College, she was greeted by a flank of angry protestors upset with her stance on, among other things, Israel's conflict with Hamas, as Fox News reports.

Activists assail Clinton

According to NBC 10 in Boston, Mrs. Clinton was set to be a featured guest at a “woman-led democracy summit that was scheduled to kick off around 9:30 a.m.

The event came amid the opening of a new entity at the school known as the Hillary Rodham Clinton Center for Citizenship, Leadership, and Democracy.

As attendees began making their way into the event, the protestors shouts ramped up, with demonstrators making their disdain for the honoree quite clear.

Protestors who mobilized on the day of Clinton's appearance indicated that they are not interested in modeling their careers after hers, and pamphlets seen on campus ahead of the event declared the former Democratic presidential hopeful Wellesley's “most-beloved war criminal” and someone with blood on her hands.

Not Just Wellesley

The scene at Clinton's undergraduate alma mater came close on the heels of a similar incident last week in New York, where she was attending a stage production of Suffs, a show about the suffrage movement in which she has taken a behind-the-scenes producing role.

Though the evening was designed to serve as a fundraiser to help the re-election prospects of President Joe Biden, Hillary and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, were confronted by protestors who took aim at both spouses, as the Daily Mail reports.

Mrs. Clinton drew particular ire from those assembled, with demonstrators accusing her of complicity in “the deaths of millions.”

One angry voice asked, “Hillary, has anyone ever told you that you are the super predator? You are responsible for genocides, you are responsible for atrocities. You're literally helping facilitate the genocide of Palestinian people.”

Student discontent adds insult to injury

Activists at Wellesley are not the only young people who have expressed their frustrations with Mrs. Clinton in recent months, as students who enrolled in her highly-touted course at Columbia University also gave voice to their own displeasure earlier this year, as Fox News noted at the time.

Clinton's “decision-making” course at the Ivy League school was eagerly anticipated by many, but according to some who took the class, the experience fell far short of expectations.

Columbia student Laalitya Acharya said, “I would have really, really hoped that she would brin gin some more unique insights...rather than her almost basically reciting passage from her book word for word during lecture.”

Considering the backlash Clinton continues to draw from the liberal end of her party's spectrum, one wonders whether the Biden campaign's interest in having her serve as a surrogate will begin to wane.
