Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined "The View" on Wednesday, warning against a second term for former President Donald Trump.

Clinton compared Trump to Hitler, claiming that the Nazi leader was also elected by the people.

Clinton's words

"I can’t even think that because I think it would be the end of our country as we know it. And I don’t say that lightly. You know, I hated losing, and I especially hated losing to him because I had seen so many warning signals during the campaign," Clinton said.

“Literally from his inauguration on, it was nothing but, you know, accusing people of things, making up facts, denying the size of the crowd at his own inauguration," she added.

Comparing to Hitler

"You know, when I was secretary of state, I used to talk about one and done. And what I meant by that is that people would get legitimately elected, and then they would try to do away with elections and do away with opposition and do away with a free press," Clinton stated.

"And you could see it in countries where, well, Hitler was duly elected. And so all of a sudden, somebody with those tendencies, dictatorial authoritarian tendencies would be like, ‘Oh, okay, we’re going to shut this down. We’re going to throw these people in jail,'" she continued.

Past remarks

"Clinton called for a 'formal deprogramming' for many supporters of Trump during a CNN interview in October," Fox News reported.

"Because at some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members, but something needs to happen," she said.

Clinton's heated remarks concerning the former president have escalated in recent weeks as Trump's poll numbers have increased.

Trump was also recently ahead in five of six battleground states in a New York Times poll that has caused much concern among Democrats.

Clinton's attacks may be accepted by the audience of "The View," but a growing number of Americans see Trump as a better alternative to the leadership of President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats.
