Hillary Clinton was behind Biden's Howard Stern interview

It now appears that Hillary Clinton was a major reason why President Joe Biden recently did an interview with Howard Stern.

Fox News reports that Clinton's connection was revealed by Stern's producer, Gary Dell'Abate.

Per the outlet, "Hillary Clinton's team encouraged President Biden to appear on The Howard Stern Show, his producer revealed this week, after she rebuffed opportunities to speak with Stern in 2016."

In case you missed the interview, we'll provide some highlights in a moment. But, first, we'll take a closer look at Clinton's connection to the interview.

"Four years" in the making

Dell'Abate revealed that the Biden interview with Stern was "four years" in the making and that it was particularly being pushed by Clinton, who believed that this could be a big help for Biden's reelection campaign.

"Believe me, there were a lot of people who were involved in helping this booking from people inferred on all that stuff — but you know who was super helpful on this? Really, really helpful. Hillary Clinton," Dell'Abate said.

He added, "Her people really let Biden’s people know this was a good place to be."

Stern similarly tried to get Clinton on his show when she last ran for president, in 2016, but she refused. Stern, for those who are unfamiliar with him, is a big-time supporter of Clinton.

It seems that Clinton did not want Biden to miss the same opportunity that she did.

The interview

If you missed it, then you didn't miss much. It was another typical softball interview for Biden. But, as usual, Biden even managed to mess this up.

For one thing, Biden had trouble with some basic facts. The New York Post reports:

On two occasions, Biden told Stern he was preparing to address the Gridiron Club’s annual dinner in DC on Saturday night. In fact, Biden already appeared at the Gridiron dinner last month, but meant to refer to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Then, Biden got himself into more trouble by claiming that he used to receive "very salacious pictures" from "a lot of lovely women."

Finally, Biden got himself into the biggest trouble by seemingly agreeing to debate his 2024 challenger, former President Donald Trump. This is despite the fact that, up until this point, Biden and the White House had been desperately trying to avoid such a debate. Regardless, it appears that the debate is still not going to happen.

The interview, to put it mildly, was a disaster for Biden, which is about par for the course for Biden.
