Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), whom Hillary Clinton has endorsed for mayor of Houston, Texas, was caught on recorded audio berating her staff for not knowing information she wanted and calling them "f**kups.
The audio was obtained by Texas newspaper Current Revolt and published on Saturday. It threatens to derail Jackson Lee's bid for Houston mayor, although many of her constituents may not pay too much attention to it because she already has the reputation of being the meanest House member.
"You took a piece of paper from that woman regarding something that was owned by Duncantell. Where is it? What date was it?" Lee is heard on the audio asking a male staff member.
The staffer says that he gave the paper to Jerome and that he has to call Jerome about it, which for some reason sets Jackson Lee off.
"I don’t want you to do a [expletive] thing," she said. "I want you to have a [expletive] brain. I want you to have read it. I want you to say, ‘Congresswoman, it was such and such a date. That’s what I want. That’s the kind of staff that I want to have."
"When I called Jerome, he only sits up there like a fat [expletive], just talking about what the [expletive] he doesn’t know," she continued. "Both of y’all are [expletive]-ups…This is the worst [expletive] that I could’ve ever had put together. Two [expletive] big [expletive] children. [expletive] idiots. Serve no [expletive] purpose."
"Nobody’s respecting him, nobody gives a [expletive] about what you’re doing. And you ain’t doing [expletive]. And this is an example of it. I gave it to Jerome. This is not child’s work, ok," Jackson Lee said.
The tirade follows a Daily Caller report dating back to 2011 in which several former staff members said they had been berated by her and forced to work long hours, even after midnight.
They also said she made staffers drive her everywhere, even very short distances.
Jackson Lee was also forced to step down as chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in 2019 when a former staffer sued Jackson Lee for threatening retaliation over a 2015 rape by a supervisor when she was an intern for CBCF.
She's just the kind of person Hillary Clinton would want to endorse.
Women like Clinton and Jackson Lee are under the mistaken impression that they need to be abrasive and vulgar like (some) men to get anywhere in life.
It would be a mistake to make Jackson Lee the mayor of Houston, one of the largest cities in the U.S.
Voters will hopefully realize this before they make her the nominee and vote for her in November.
