Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has drawn significant attention for her ongoing fight against illegal alien gang members.

That isn't the only reason that Noem got attention this week, however, as the White House called for prayers after she was diagnosed as suffering from an allergic reaction.

Noem taken to hospital

According to Fox News, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief was transported to hospital on Tuesday, although it was unclear what had triggered the incident.

Longtime Trump advisor Bruce LeVell formerly served as head of the president's National Diversity Coalition, and he addressed Noem's condition in a social media post.

"My dear friend [Secretary Noem], our fearless Secretary of Homeland Security, was just rushed to the hospital," Levell wrote on X.

Levell: "Please join me in keeping Kristi in your prayers"

"My heart is with her during this challenging time, but I know her strength and determination will shine through. Please join me in keeping Kristi in your prayers for a swift and full recovery," he continued.

"She has been tirelessly spearheading [President Donald Trump's] initiative to uphold law and order and utilize ICE to keep our country safe from criminals. Let’s stand strong for her, just as she’s stood strong for America," Levell went on to add.

Charlie Kirk is the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, and he spoke up as well, asking that his supporters "pray for Kristi."

This is the second time in recent days that Noem has generated headlines, as she also did so late last week when California Democrat Sen. Alex Padilla burst into her press conference.

Video showed Democratic lawmaker being dragged from room

As NBC News reported, viral video footage of the incident showed Padilla abruptly entering the room and interrupting Noem's briefing.

"I am Sen. Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary," the California lawmaker could be heard saying before a group of men grabbed hold of Padilla and dragged him from the room.

That footage was met with outrage from Padilla's fellow Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

"Watching this video sickened my stomach, the manhandling of a United States Senator, Senator Padilla. We need immediate answers to what the hell went on," Schumer wrote in a social media post.
