House forms JFK Files task force to determine if CIA lied to Congress
President Donald Trump is a man of his word. That was proven once again when he authorized the release of the JFK files, which amounted to thousands of documents regarding John F. Kennedy's assassination.
According to the Daily Caller, the GOP-led House is taking the files quite seriously and have announced that a task force has been formed to investigate whether or not the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) lied to Congress about the assassination.
The House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets will hold its first official hearing on April 1, and many are anxiously awaiting what Congress can find out regarding the details of the assassination contained in the files, and perhaps elsewhere.
Trump had promised to have the files released while he was campaigning for president.
What's going on?
Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida announced the formation of the House task force and the first hearing date.
"The task force and the transparency this is providing is long overdue," Luna said. "The reason that you have such an array of theories is because the government was not transparent."

The Daily Caller noted:
In a Zoom meeting with Mary Ferrell Foundation Vice President Jefferson Morley, Luna shared early details about the nascent probe into the failure of the nation’s intelligence agencies, chiefly the Central Intelligence Agency, to prevent the assassination of Kennedy.
Morley will reportedly serve as an expert witness for the House task force. He's also an independent investigator with extensive experience in the matter as a longtime JFK assassination researcher.
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that he ordered the National Archives and Records Administration to issue the full release of the records, even with social security numbers included.
"I was given the task of releasing that because many presidents have gone through it and they haven’t released. I said ‘release,'" Trump said. "We even released social security numbers. I didn’t want anything deleted."
