House Republicans have just discovered a questionable $200,000 direct payment that was once made to President Joe Biden. 

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability made this discovery during their ongoing investigation of the Biden family business.

As part of this investigation, U.S. Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the committee's chairman, issued subpoenas for James and Hunter Biden's personal and business bank records.

It was in these bank records that the committee found this $200,000 direct payment to Joe Biden.

The details

In a press release that the committee published on Friday, it explained where the $200,000 came from.

The committee reports:

In 2018, James Biden received $600,000 in loans from Americore—a financially distressed and failing rural hospital operator. According to bankruptcy court documents, James Biden received these loans “based upon representations that his last name, 'Biden,' could 'open doors' and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.”

This is one of the central allegations that House Republicans are investigating, namely, whether the Biden family business's "product" was essentially Joe Biden - that is, whether the likes of Hunter and James Biden were essentially selling access to Joe Biden, given his position in the U.S. government.

The committee continues:

On March 1, 2018, Americore wired a $200,000 loan into James and Sara Biden’s personal bank account – not their business bank account. On the same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check from this same personal bank account to Joe Biden.

The committee has released a photograph of the check.

"There is more to come."

In conjunction with this press release, Comer has released a video statement on the matter.

Referring to the check, Comer said, "A document that we’re releasing today raises new questions about how President Biden personally benefited from his family’s shady influence peddling of his name and their access to him."

Later, Comer added, "Even if this was a personal loan repayment, it’s still troubling that Joe Biden’s ability to be paid back by his brother depended on the success of his family’s shady financial dealings."

Comer then went on to pose a series of questions to Joe Biden, including whether he knew "that the same day James Biden wrote him a check for $200,000, James Biden had just received a loan for the exact same amount from business dealings with a company that was in financial distress and failing."

Comer concluded by saying, "The bank records don’t end here.There is more to come."
