The House Oversight Committee is continuing to investigate allegations that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter were involved in a multi-million dollar bribery scheme.

In what may prove to be cause for panic among Democrats, the committee just announced that it has chosen to subpoena a Biden family ally.

Devon Archer served on Burisma board with Hunter Biden

According to Breitbart, Devon Archer was selected in 2014 to serve alongside Hunter Biden on the board of Burisma, a controversial Ukrainian oil and gas firm.

While the president has long insisted that he has had no connection with Hunter Biden's business dealings or his associates, a photograph emerged in 2020 which showed him playing golf with Devon Archer in 2014.

What's more, Breitbart pointed out that Archer was convicted in February of last year for defrauding a Native American tribe.

"Mr. Archer’s testimony is critical to the Committee’s investigation"

That resulted in him receiving a one year prison sentence along with an order to pay $43,954,416.75, an obligation he has been reluctant to make good on.

The House Oversight Committee explained in a tweet that it expected Archer to appear before it on Friday for a sworn deposition.

"Mr. Archer’s testimony is critical to the Committee’s investigation as he was Hunter Biden’s business partner in a number of transactions involving foreign nationals and foreign companies," the tweet stated.

"Mr. Archer is associated with corporate entities that the Committee has identified and the Biden family’s role in each of them," it continued.

Archer's attorney has yet to comment

"Furthermore, he has significant information regarding the purpose of these companies and knowledge of relevant documents related to the Committee’s investigation. We look forward to hearing from him," it added.

Meanwhile, CBS News correspondent Catherine Herridge tweeted out an image of the subpoena that Archer was sent, noting that there had been no comment from his attorney.
