Hunter Biden indictment bad for White House, Justice Department

Hunter Biden's latest indictments are nothing less than a total nightmare for President Joe Biden, the White House, and the Department of Justice.

In a recent Washington Examiner editorial, it was noted that the most recent tax-related indictments against the president's son are as "damning" to the Justice Department as they are to Hunter Biden himself.

The claim centers around two IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, who have now not only been vindicated, but have proved instrumental in bringing to light the alleged wrongdoings.

Their original claims regarding Hunter Biden's tax situation have not only been backed with substantial evidence, it was enough to compel federal prosecutors to charge Hunter Biden with nine charges, including three felonies.

DOJ hiding it?

The editorial lays out a series of events that led to the discovery of Hunter Biden's alleged tax-related crimes, noting that without that evidence, the DOJ likely would have "hid" the evidence and charges never would have been filed.

The Examiner noted:

Without the whistleblowers, the Justice Department would have hidden all of this. Indeed, Delaware-based United States Attorney David Weiss, now acting as a special counsel, originally came within 24 hours of closing the investigation of Hunter Biden without prosecuting him for any of this — until the federal judge, seeing reports of the whistleblower’s accounts goaded Weiss to withdraw the extremely lenient plea deal he and the presidential son had worked out.

It was noted that Weiss also reportedly let certain statutes of limitations expire regarding other charges that could have been brought against Hunter Biden.

Those particular charges, the Examiner said, could have implicated President Biden himself.

The argument was made that the charges only emerged after Attorney General Merrick Garland was "shamed" into appointing Weiss as a special counsel. The charges, the outlet noted, could have been brought long ago.

Garland had previously denied that Weiss was hamstrung in his efforts to pursue charges, though many believe that's nothing short of a total lie.

"Protection racket"

The Examiner claimed that Garland is, essentially, "running a protection racket" for President Joe Biden.

It noted another interesting situation developing regarding claims made by a former U.S. attorney out of Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, a former U.S. Attorney from Pennsylvania, Scott Brady, has testified that the FBI stymied him when he tried to probe Hunter’s business dealings with Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

It'll be interesting to see if and when the evidence is finally at the level where Garland has no choice but to dig further into the Biden family.
