Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar has long faced allegations of antisemitism, leading to condemnation from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Yet in a move that her detractors seem to regard as pathetic, Omar is now using the group’s name in an attempt to raise money.

Congresswoman says pro-Israel group has "big bucks"

According to BizPac Review, Omar put up a fundraising post this past Thursday on the social media platform previously known as Twitter.

"Can you rush a donation to Ilhan Omar’s re-election campaign right now, and help us have the resources to fight back against AIPAC and its dark money super PAC that is trying to defeat us?" it asked.

"They might have the big bucks, but we have each other, and that is how we're going to win," the post went on to add.

Omar calls on supporters to "rush a contribution"

The post cited a Daily Beast report which claimed that AIPAC is aiming to spend as much as $100 million to support primary challengers against far-left Democrats.

Another post read, "URGENT! AIPAC and outside money groups are preparing to spend over $100 MILLION to try to unseat progressives in Congress."

"We’ve seen this before. We’re not going to let them do this again," the post insisted before asking that supporters "rush a contribution and help us have the resources to fight back."

"Antisemitism is costing her donors"

However, some social media users saw those pleas as evidence of desperation as Omar’s “antisemitism is costing her donors.”

Meanwhile, others said they would respond to the fundraising call by donating to whoever decides to challenge her next year.
