Independent Candidate Dan Osborn Referred To GOP Opponent's Team As 'Hitler Youth Frat Boys'
Independent Senate candidate Dan Osborn is in hot water after it emerged that he called his opponent's team "Hitler Youth Frat Boys" during a Zoom call with a Democrat donor group.
In a call with prospective Democratic donors on Friday, Osborn smeared his opponent, Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) as a Nazi sympathizer who has surrounded herself with racist "Hitler Youth."
During the call, Osborn stated, "As far as Sen. Fischer’s campaign has gone, she’s never had any competition so her staffers and her campaign team are a bunch of Hitler Youth frat boys, to be quite honest with you."
Despite labeling himself as an Independent who wants to break the two-party system, Osborn is soliciting Democrat dollars to fund his campaign and he's doing it by smearing his opponents as Nazis.
Escalating Rhetoric
This incendiary comment comes after former President Donald Trump, who Democrats have compared to Hitler for years, has survived two assassination attempts.
Osborn is trying to present himself as something different from Democrats and Republicans and yet he is engaged in the same behavior that Democrats have been engaged in for years.
After the first attempt was made on Trump’s life at a rally in Pennsylvania, President Biden called for all political campaigns to “lower the temperature." It's worth nothing that the Biden campaign had six months earlier placed the former president’s remarks side by side with Hitler’s.
"Wish I could have that one back"
When Osborn was asked to explain himself for comparing his opponents to Nazis, Osborn told The Post in an emailed quote on Monday that "That was a little harsh, wish I could have that one back."
He went on to explain himself saying, "I served in the Navy and sometimes I still talk like [a] sailor. I’m not a career politician, I talk like a regular guy because I am a regular guy."
Regular people aren't supposed to smear their political opponents as Nazis and the reason Osborn made those comments is because he is a radical that believes his political opponents are genuinely evil.
This is the same thinking that has led to the multiple attacks against Trump as well as other Republicans. Democrats aren't lowering the temperature and so-called Independents like Osborn aren't trying either.
Osborn Campaign Exposed
Dan Osborn is pitching himself as a "regular guy" who wants to break the two-party system but it turns out that his campaign is taking in massive amounts of funding from Democrats.
Ironically, he has attacked Fischer, not just for being a Nazi, but also as a Washington insider backed by wealthy corporate donors and the pharmaceutical industry. It was then discovered that Osborn's campaign is bringing in thousands from LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and the George Soros-backed Sixteen Thirty Fund nonprofit.
He even received a donation from former pharmaceutical executive Roger Perlmutter of Merck & Co. So much for being an Independent candidate who isn't backed by wealthy corporate donors and the pharmaceutical industry.
