Interest in Epstein falls, Trump's approval rises

Chief Data Analyst at CNN, Harry Enten, broke bad news to audiences on Monday, saying that the interest in President Donald Trump’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files is waning significantly, as The Daily Wire reported.

According to the CNN expert, even Trump’s connection to the files isn’t getting the attention some might have hoped, and it’s not making any significant dent in Trump’s overall approval.

The new turn of events for this time in office is Trump’s approval rating, which has been in the mid-40th percentile.

That is considerably higher than the 37% approval rating he had at this point in his first term.

The Fizzle Out

Enten explained: “I would say that this is — from at least a political point of view — quickly turning into a dud of a story,” the analyst said when questioned by CNN’s Kate Bolduan.

According to the CNN expert, Google searches for “Epstein” have been “falling through the floor,” and the actual searches are down 89% from what they were three weeks ago.

Even the term “Epstein,” according to Enten, is no longer at the top of the topics searched with the president’s name.

“At this particular point, the American people’s interest in this story, it’s quickly becoming something of a nothingburger,” Enten said.

Trump Approval

While his approval rating is moderate overall, it is exceptionally good amongst Republicans, who seem to believe the current president is all they had hoped he would be.

According to a recent report, among Republicans, Trump’s approval rating has almost overtaken a record high, and his hanging out at about 90%, as Enten pointed out.

“So, no, he hasn’t lost any of that base. And when it comes to that center of the electorate, he’s basically holding on there,” Enten noted.

“And his overall approval rating, 44%, is pretty gosh darn good for him, considering where he was at this point in term number one.”
