IRS whistleblower implicates President Biden, AG Garland

Recently released whistleblower testimony appears to implicate both President Joe Biden and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.

According to Fox News, the congressional testimony - from IRS Criminal Supervisory Special Agent Gary A. Shapley Jr. - was released by the House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday.

Shapley, in the testimony, makes two bombshell claims. The first is that, contrary to what Garland has claimed, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has interfered in the criminal investigation of Hunter Biden. This is the same investigation as the one in which reports indicate that the federal government has reached a plea deal with Hunter Biden.

The second bombshell claim from Shapley is that President Biden - back when he was vice president - was present when Hunter Biden attempted to pressure a Chinese investor into sending him millions of dollars. This is the claim on which this article will focus.

Biden's narrative is destroyed

President Biden and his administration have repeatedly claimed that Biden was not involved in his son's dubious international business dealings - they have claimed that Biden had no knowledge of what Hunter Biden was up to.

The whistleblower's testimony directly contradicts this.

Shapely told Congress:

[W]e obtained a July 30th, 2017, WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao, where Hunter Biden wrote: “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.

If this is all true, then Biden can no longer claim ignorance with regard to his son's business dealings.

If this is all true, Biden was there: he was an active participant.

The White House's response - or lack thereof

The White House, at the time of this writing, has not addressed the allegation. It, instead, has only sidestepped such questions.

Christopher Clark, Hunter Biden's attorney, however, has released a statement.

Clark said:

Biased and politically-motivated, selective leaks have plagued this matter for years. They are not only irresponsible, they are illegal. A close examination of the document released publicly yesterday by a very biased individual raises serious questions over whether it is what he claims it to be. It is dangerously misleading to make any conclusions or inferences based on this document.

Mark Lytle, an attorney for Shapley, released a statement of his own, saying that Shapley "wanted to just bring this out to the public as a whistleblower in a protective fashion so that everybody could judge it."

After the initial whistleblower revelations, Fox News released a report indicating:

A bank account linked to President Biden's son Hunter Biden received more than $5 million in August 2017, shortly after his threatening messages . . .
